“A life without family and sexual violence” program to improve knowledge and attitudes in facilitating obstetricians.

Objective: To determine the effectiveness of the program “Una Vida Sin Violencia Familiar y Sexual”, among obstetricians, facilitators of the district of Amarilis, in the Department of Huánuco (Perú), 2021. Methods: This was a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental design comprising 50 midwife facilitators, who were administered a knowledge questionnaire and a scale of attitudes towards family and sexual violence (pretest and posttest), after validation of the instrument and its reliability test. The chi-square test (χ²) was applied in the inferential analysis. Results: When analyzing knowledge about family and sexual violence before the implementation of the program, in the pre-intervention the majority had a low level of knowledge 70 % (35); after the application of the program, un 96 % (48) had reached a high level of knowledge. In attitudes towards, family and sexual violence before the implementation of the program, 62 % (31) had inadequate attitudes; after the application of the program (post-intervention), 92 % (46) had developed adequate attitudes. Conclusion: The program “Una Vida Sin Violencia Familiar y Sexual” proved to be effective for the facilitating midwives, which evidenced a notable increase in their knowledge and an adequate attitude.
