Introduction: The unhealthy water consumption´s result are gastrointestinal diseases, the main source of water supply is from wells and they may have bacterial contamination. Objective: To evaluate the water systems’ microbiological quality for human consumption in the municipality of Colcapirhua. Methods: From July to October of 2018, 109 water systems analyzes were carried out, taking samples, one from the wellhead and another from 100 meters far from the home distribution according to Bolivian’s normative NB 496. Results: They showed at the wellhead 42 (38.5%) without microbiological contamination, 60 (55.0%) have total coliform bacteria and 7 (6.4%) non-coliform “Pseudomona aeroginosa”, among the total coliforms found are; Escherichia coli 36 (33.2%), Klebsiella pneumoniae 10 (9.2%), Klebsiella ozaenae 6 (5.5%), Klebsiella oxytoca 1 (0.9%), Enterobacter cloacae 6 (31.2%) and Citrobacter freundii 2 (1.8%). The analyzes in the home distribution network showed; 51 (46.8%) without microbiological contamination, 51 (46.8%) have total Coliform bacteria and 7 (6.4%) non-coliform bacteria “Pseudomona aeroginosa”, among the total coliforms found; Escherichia coli 34 (31.2%), Klebsiella pneumoniae7 (6.4%), Klebsiella ozaenae 6 (5.5%), Klebsiella oxytoca 1 (0.9%), Enterobacter cloacae 4 (3.7%) and Citrobacter freundii 1 (0.9%) . Discussion: The water for human consumption should not contain total and fecal coliforms by normative NB 512 the water wel ´s microbial load samples results presented in the municipality of Colcapirhua, reflect a deficient microbiological quality that puts the population in that´s why it is necessary to carry out a filtration or disinfection process.
